Tournament Details: About
The Mauer Cup is an end-of-season baseball tournament officially sanctioned by Little League Baseball that raises funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
The tournament has two goals: keep kids outdoors and active while teaching them the benefits of raising funds for a very worthy cause.
- 2011 Mauer Cup Dates:
- First day of pool play: Saturday, July 16
Tournament picnic: Sunday, July 24
First day of bracket play: Monday, July 25
Championship game: Saturday, July 30
- Rules of Play:
- Pool play followed by single elimination bracket play. The Mauer Cup will follow 2011 Little League rules and regulations, including continuous batting.
- Teams and Rosters:
- The Mauer Cup is open to regular season Little League teams from Districts 1 and 2. Only players from Little League's Major Division are invited to play.
Roster maximum: 14
Roster minimum: 12
The goal is to keep regular season teams together as much as possible. However, understanding that vacations and other issues may prevent that from happening, teams may add non-regular season roster players to meet the minimum roster size. Only one non-regular season roster player can be a 12-year-old All-Star.
- Entry Fee and Fundraising:
- The Mauer Cup entry fee is linked to fundraising for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Entry Fee is $500. $100.00 is payable at the time of registration. The balance of $400.00 is due by Opening Ceremonies on Saturday, July 16, 2011. The entry fee is raised through the sale of Mauer Cup raffle ticket which are provided to each participating team.
